Update on Caesar

P.E.T. PROJECTS has found a (very short term ) temporary berth for Ceasar for the moment. While that certainly isn't the new Forever Home that he will need, for now it will keep the 'headsmans' axe' at bay. His foster Mom thinks that he is just lovely even if he is plainly not used to cats : ))) He is definitely house trained and he got along very well with her dogs.
Dogs are so amazing .... if a person had been abandoned by the one they loved, would he or she be as trusting and affectionate as Ceasar 's foster Mom has found him to be?
I know I say this all the time on both blogs, but there would be more love than anyone could possibly imagine for someone kind enough to open their home and their heart to this sweet guy. He's housetrained, old enough to learn the ropes and still energetic enough to be a great hiking buddy right now. He is full of love and would shine with a second chance.

Thats because you are a kind person with a strong sense of ethics. If everyone felt the way you do, there would be no need for better laws to better protect helpless innocent bystanders like Caeasr.
But here in the real world, we need better laws so that #@%&$ people cannot treat a living breathing sentient being like a disposable "thing" that can be tossed aside like rubbish.

On the federal level we need animal cruelty moved out of the property section of the criminal code and into a separate section that recognizes their capacity to feel pain. Ridiculous defenses and loopholes now exist because animals are classed as property, ergo Caesar's owner was perfectly within his legal rights to take Caesar in to the vet to be killed ( lets not sugar coat it ) .... even if its off the charts in any moral sense.
On the provincial level, specific restrictions on 'premature euthanasia in Bill 186 could neither be prosecuted nor enforced until the federal law is changed.

Any updates on the fate of this poor dog? According to the P.E.T. website today is the new deadline.
