Update with good news

I've always been a fan of happy endings .... so I am delighted to be able to say that HART just emailed to let me know that this lovely Husky's name is Max. How do they know that? For the very best of reasons of course ... Max's owners have been found are very relieved to have their boy back.
If you should ever lose your own dog, do not wait ... get the word out as fast as you can. Call all the vet clinics, groomers, rescues, radio stations and of course your animal control as well.
There is a free Make-A-Flyer template on the Best Friends site that you can used to make and print flyers to paste everyone in your community.
And of course, it never hurts to have your dogs licensed as well. But one of the best precautions you can take is taking your dog for long, regular walks around your neighbourhood. That way your neighbours will recognize your runaway and if you are lucky can call. I also write my phone number in permanent marker on the back of their licenses every year.
Whatever you do, don't dawdle because most pounds have a really tight timeline for keeping pets before they are either killed or sold. And don't give up, because sometimes there is a happy ending.
