There is an urgent need for fosters for German Shepherd dogs. A long time shelter in Texas is closing and that is putting 200 good dogs at risk of being killed if there is no place for them to go.
Rescues around North America are scrambling to help.
East Coast German Shepherd Rescue is urgently looking for fosters to help save lives. ( Click here for their Downloadable Foster Form (Microsoft Word Document) )
This is a very time sensitive issue as the shelter will be closed before the end of the month. If you believe you can help, or would like more information, please contact leah@nsgrescue.com . If you are on Facebook, you can also contact Leah through the EAST COAST GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE Facebook group.
To paraphrase an old saying that is frequently used on the homeless pet site " Volunteering to foster one good dog might not change the whole world, but it will change the whole world for that one dog"

Is this a factual thing? I've seen this posted on the CTV facebook site and I've checked out both their (ECGSR)facebook group and the rescue page and nothing is mentioned.
Yes it is. Besides running EGSSR, Leah is also a new mom. Like many other busy rescue personnel, Leah does not always keep either her web page or facebook group up to date. I will pass on your suggestion though.
The shepherds are at Camp Wolfgang in Texas and today there are still 120 needing to be relocated.
Thanks! I'll spread the word I know quite a few GSD lovers who might be interested in a foster or adoption. I understand she must be very busy and I'm sure she's stressed. Just double checking as there were just a couple of "hoax" type emails going around a few weeks back about rescue dogs in need of help.
